How your old mobile
phone and empty inkjet cartridge can help Midshires Search &
Rescue
Midshires is a lowland
search and rescue organisation. We can be called out by the police
(we are used by the Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire police forces,
and by the Milton Keynes division of Thames Valley police), county
Emergency Planning Officers or other search teams. Our role is
to assist in the search for members of the public who have gone
missing, particularly if they are deemed to be especially vulnerable,
and to assist county teams in dealing with other types of civil
emergencies.
Donate Old Phones
or Used Inkjet Cartridges
If you are about to
throw away an old, unwanted mobile phone or used inkjet cartridge
- STOP!
You can now send mobile
phones for re-cycling, at no cost to yourself, and know that not
only is the phone going to be put to good use in overseas countries
(or properly boken up and recycled for its component parts if
it is not usable), but that each one returned will raise some
money to help support Midshires
Search & Rescue.
Similarly, old inkjet
cartridges (most makes except Epson, and no laser cartridges please)
can be sent for refurbishing and refilling. Each one will earn
£1 for Midshires funds.
To recycle your phone
or inkjet cartridge, click
here and fill out the simple form to enable recycling
envelopes to be sent out to you. Once you have the bags, simply
put the phone or cartridge in the envelope and pop into the post.
There is no cost to you as the envelopes are to a Freepost address.
That's all there is to it.
